Your Path to Healing

Helping you grow through life’s challenges — with clarity, balance, and purpose.

Barbara Schnake Psychology provides empathetic, evidence-based therapy for concerns such as anxiety, depression, trauma, and life transitions. Drawing on EMDR, CBT, ACT, and systemic relational approaches, therapy takes a transdiagnostic approach — focusing on the core patterns and processes that shape distress across different experiences, rather than on diagnostic labels alone.

Hi! I'm Barbara

I’m a NSW registered psychologist with a warm and collaborative approach to therapy. I’m passionate about supporting people to understand themselves more deeply, strengthen meaningful connections, and move toward lasting and meaningful change.

Outside of my work, I love spending time with friends, walking along the beach, and being with animals — especially my dog. These moments of connection are grounding for me and reflect something I deeply value: the importance of feeling connected, understood, and not alone.

Meaningful connection is one of the most important things in life for me, and it’s a value I bring into my work as a psychologist. My goal is to create a safe, non-judgmental space where you can feel heard, supported, and respected.

Services Offered

You do not need a formal diagnosis to begin therapy. I work from a transdiagnostic approach, meaning therapy focuses on the underlying patterns, experiences, and processes that contribute to distress, rather than on diagnostic labels alone. You can book therapy to work on a specific concern, navigate a life transition or crisis, seek support as a new parent, or even if you’re unsure what you need right now. We will always begin by defining your therapy goals and therapy plan together.
